UDairy Creamery: Reviews & Ratings

Delicious ice cream. Made fresh on campus. Many flavors including seasonal ones. I love so many of them. But some are weird like purple sweet potato and sweet corn. Oh well. There are enough that you don’t have to get those. I got a flight which is four small scoops of ice cream in a boat, kind of like a sampler. It was good. And there is a cutout of a cow eating an ice cream. So cute.

The line can sometimes be out the door but it moves fast. Just give your order to the next available scooper and it will all sort out at the register. Flavors change all the time. You can not be disappointed. Don't forget napkins - the ice cream is not deep frozen, so it will melt fast. Outdoor seating. No restroom.

I was delighted to see so many choices for dairy free options for my daughter. It is challenging to find an ice cream place that offers dairy free choices, so while my kids were growing up, our family of 6 often didn't go to ice cream shops because I wouldn't go somewhere that she couldn't have a treat like her siblings. She really enjoyed the dairy free strawberry ice cream on a sugar cone. I had the peach ice cream, which was good but nothing special. My husband had one scoop of the all nighter on a sugar cone. Their helpings were generous and the staff was friendly despite how crowded it was. There is no indoor seating other than a few stools, and on a high temp day in the summer, it was too hot to sit outside, so we ate in our car.

Probably my favorite ice cream shop at this point. I've had the pleasure of not only enjoying their ice cream for a few years now, but also touring the facilities where the ice cream (and cheese!) is made: in the Creamery itself and the Genuardi Food Innovation Laboratory next door. It's cool to see the students in action, and the flavors they create are fantastic. My favorite regulars are Nom Nom Nom and U Be-Be Baby, plus I'm obsessed with the "limited edition" flavors CANR Cone-nection (created for Ag Day 2025) and the elusive Dela-Bear (released only when a bear visits close to campus). Definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area!

Came here with my girlfriend for ice cream and we were seriously impressed. I got the Fairy Floss and she had the U-Be-Be Baby — both were absolutely delicious. The flavors tasted fresh and authentic, not overly sweet or artificial. You can tell they use real ingredients. The service was great too — friendly and fast. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re into quality ice cream!

This is the best ice cream on the east coast. Fresh, creamy and incredible flavors. Portions are generous and the staff is nice. I even bought a t-shirt and got to pet a cow.

As alumni of the University of Delaware, having UDairy’s MooMobile at our wedding felt both nostalgic and incredibly fun. Guests sprinted to the truck the moment it arrived. Watching people experience UDairy for the first time and instantly fall in love was one of our favorite moments of the entire night!!! On the bus ride back to the hotels, everyone was comparing best flavors. Hearing someone say “Delaware River Mud Pie changed my life” absolutely made our night. Instead of a traditional cake cutting, we did an ice-cream-licking moment, and it was perfect. It felt so us, and taking photos on the MooMobile made it even more special. The team was incredibly kind, organized, and took such great care of our guests. Being able to use UDairy’s vanilla ice cream with our caterer’s desserts elevated everything, and having eight flavors to choose from was such an amazing surprise. We hope we created some new UDairy fans, and we can’t wait to visit again the next time we’re back on campus. Highly recommend the MooMobile for weddings and events. LeeAnne was a huge help with the planning!

Very unique ice cream parlor! Offers a wide variety of flavors with their homemade ice cream. Employees are usually college students who are very friendly and very generous with their portions. Love the raspberry cheesecake flavor, especially when I get a good chunk of graham cracker in the scoop. Highly recommend!
